Preserving the unique character of Georgetown while responsibly stewarding future growth.

I love Georgetown; I’ve been here for 20 years. I’ve lived in District 6 since 2013, in a 1950’s bungalow I knew I’d raise a family in someday. Being invested in this community has been a priority for nearly 10 years – through Preservation Georgetown, Habitat for Humanity, the Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.), the Georgetown Transportation Advisory Board, and in our church – and I’ve watched Georgetown grow and thrive in so many ways. As a City Council Representative, I’ll work to ensure every family enjoys the safe, charming, family-friendly Georgetown we know today.

Elected officials should, by nature, be of the people.

They should know, love, and serve their community.

  • Preservation Georgetown

  • Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K)

  • Light of Christ Anglican Church Vestry

My wife Allison and I were married in Lois Perkins Chapel at Southwestern in 2015, but long before that, I made District 6 my home. On any given day, you can find us out and about with our kids Beatrice, 3, and Joey, 1, playing at Edwards Park or pushing the stroller through Old Town. We love weekends on the Square and visiting with our neighbors. We’ve deliberately set roots in Georgetown, and I want my children to love this place as much as I do.

To do that, to protect our community for generations to come, I believe we need to steward our 150-years’ worth of history well, and make decisions in that context.

I’m Committed To

  • Having frank and honest conversations with peers, asking informed, insightful questions of staff, and engaging in open, two-way communication with constituents and stakeholdersto make sure that the actions taken by council are in the best interest of the public and not special interest groups.

  • Improving the traffic infrastructure in the District for pedestrians, especially sidewalk and crosswalk improvements

  • Preserving the historic integrity of Georgetown by supporting HARC in its work and scrutinizing new public projects such as parking garages and bridges around downtown to be sure that we are not detracting from the character of Oldtown.

  • Managing growth well especially when it comes to improving transportation infrastructure around Georgetown to keep heavy traffic off of neighborhood roads that were not designed to handle it.

  • Prioritizing public safety and working to ensure that the capacity of first responders, firefighters and police officers keeps pace with population growth. I’d like to increase funding, manpower, support equipment and facilities improvements for our first responders and law enforcement.

  • Improving utility services by promoting competition for our internet service and cable providers. Supporting infrastructure improvements and capacity improvements to our water system. Promoting the efficiency of Georgetown Utility Systems to keep electric bills as low as possible despite the negotiated rate contracts we are locked into with our power providers.

  • Promoting affordability by keeping our tax rate one of the lowest in central Texas and minimizing economic development incentives supported by property tax payers in Georgetown.
